Ukraine is under attack by one of the most powerful countries in the world, Russia. The Free World has watched in horror as Vladimir Putin’s regime launched a full-scale assault against Ukraine, a sovereign nation. Many Americans are stunned and wondering: What is going on?
Russia first invaded Ukraine in 2014 as part of a hybrid war against its peaceful neighbor, aiming to destabilize the democratically-elected government. For 8 years, the Russian regime funneled disinformation, radicalizing propaganda, and weapons into Eastern Ukraine and the conflict culminated in Russia's annexation of Crimea.
Now the unthinkable has happened. Russia has launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers and tanks poured into Ukraine while missiles rained down across the country. Putin’s goal is to stop Ukraine from becoming part of Europe—by force—killing as many innocent people as he deems necessary.
The will to kill has been proven over and again by Russians breaking ceasefires, not honoring humanitarian corridors, using vacuum bombs that designed to kill people taking shelter underground, shelling civilian areas indiscriminately, conducting air raids that have destroyed entire apartment buildings and killed people just waiting in line for food—far from any legitimate military target. Make no mistake that killing civilians is the actual military objective of Moscow. This is not collateral damage. These are not accidents not isolated events. Like a criminal who kills a hostage every hour until their demands are met, this is Putin’s negotiation strategy.
