The hands on the clock spin backward, quicker and quicker. You’re getting visibly younger. News articles flash before your eyes… Y2K. Deep Blue. Dolly the Sheep. The Berlin Wall. “Insert coin to play”. “No! That’s too far, turn back!”

Phew, here we are: The dawn of console gaming. The time is blurry—a side effect of time travel—it’s as if it’s 1977-2001 all at once.

An old yet familiar voice can be heard: “You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Retro Zone!”
