As the first console to support DVD, the PS2 was a sea-change for home console gaming. Sony infused the PS2 with its own distinctive style, offered excellent backwards compatibility for the PS1, and significantly raised the bar for console gaming. With its massive catalog of over 3,800 games, the PS2 was an unmitigated success and remains the best-selling video game console of all time with over 150 million units sold.
